Born in Tavira, Pedro Pires started learning music at the age of 5 at Banda Musical de Tavira. At the age of 8, he had his first contact with the clarinet, having the maestro António Batista as his teacher.
At the age of 11, he joined the Regional Conservatory of the Algarve ‘Maria Campina’ (CRAMC), in the class of Professor José Veloso. In 2006 he finishes the 8th grade of clarinet at CRAMC with Professor Jennifer Brown, and in the same year he wins the 1st Prize in the Chamber Music Competition, of this same institution.
The same year he joins Escola Superior de Música, in Lisbon, in the class of Professor Manuel Jerónimo and, later, with Professor Paulo Gaspar.
