Biography
From Tavira (Algarve, Portugal), Pedro Miguel Ferreira Pires was born on March 29, 1988.
He started learning music at the age of 5, at Banda Musical de Tavira. At the age of 8, he had his first contact with the clarinet, with the conductor António Manuel Lopes Batista as his teacher.
At 11 years old, he joined Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina (CRAMC) in the class of Professor José António Peixoto Veloso. He was a member of the quartet of clarinets “Four Clair”, formed at CRAMC, with which he has performed in various parts of the country.
He also participated and currently participates in several clarinet Master Classes throughout the country and abroad, and he also attended an Orchestra Conductor Course under the 1st Orchestra and Orchestra Conducting Workshop, promoted by CRAMC, supervised by the conductor Luís Clemente.
